Silly Chinese national supporters think their local search engine has "beaten" google. All they're doing by celebrating google leaving the country is saying "Yep, we loveeee the government telling us what we can and can't look at so lets get rid of the only company who's got any chance of trying to push for more internet freedoms in the country".
I'm no fan of google & their ridiculous cookie policy. I don't even use them directly so that they can't build up a database of what I search for & sell the information on, but I'm pretty sure they'd be better than government controlled, filtered, & monitored Baidu.
On the other hand, if China backs down from Google, I think we should all be very very worried
